What you can expect

To understand how best to support you, I want to know the person behind the performer. Together, we will assess your needs and devise a psychologically underpinned intervention that will equip you with tools and techniques to help you reach your full potential.

It is a common belief that sport and performance psychology is only for those who are experiencing difficulties. The reality is that these techniques can be used proactively, even by those who are performing well. It's just as much about elevating strengths and unlocking new levels of excellence and well-being as it is about addressing problems.

  • One-on-one consultations

    (1 hour)

    In these sessions I provide a space free from judgement where you can explore what sport and performance psychology is and how it may benefit you. Together, we will unpack the specific challenges or demands you may be experiencing in your sport and start to develop the psychological skills and techniques that can help improve your performance and wellbeing. I will also use these sessions to follow up on your progress and to determine how we can advance or adapt our work together.

    These sessions benefit more than just athletes. I also consult coaches, managers, and parents as well as those from non-sporting domains (e.g., business and performing arts).

  • Group or team sessions

    (1 hour)

    The ideal way for me to facilitate your team’s performance and wellbeing through bespoke psychology sessions. Having been a member of numerous professional teams across several countries, I have personal, in-depth experience and insight into how teams function effectively. I’ve since built on this understanding by researching how elite sport organisations create high-performance environments and cultures that promote both wellbeing and performance. Following a needs assessment, I will draw on this knowledge to shape and deliver sessions to meet your team’s requirements. These sessions may be used to work on topics such as team dynamics, cohesion, goal setting, and team values and culture.

  • Workshops

    (1 - 2 hours)

    Workshops are designed to be a once-off, practical way to introduce key performance psychology concepts and techniques to larger groups of athletes, coaches, parents, staff, and management. These workshops can fit into your existing training programme and will be tailored to fit your needs and context. Alternatively, these workshops can be integrated into team building or other workplace interventions.

  • High-performance consultancy

    (From 1 hour)

    I believe the psychological principles that create and sustain thriving high-performance environments extend beyond sport. The factors that allow elite athletes and teams to succeed while experiencing high levels of wellbeing will be similar to those found in other high-pressure performance domains, such as business and emergency services. I am able to appraise the challenges organisations face and work with them to implement an evidence-based strategy designed to improve their performance and well-being.
